NEW JOURNALS

Here are 3 journals that are moving over to Etsy later today. These make great little gifts as they are a convienient size and contain about 100 lined pages inside. A wonderful prayer journal, list keeper, daily reminder for appointments, meetings, etc. These notebooks serve multiple purposes. This one would make a great gift for someone to jot down daily inspiration or favorite prayers.
The rubber stamps I have used on these are from The Unity Stamp Company. They have a great selection of stamps, and their customer service is outstanding~ And Angela has a wonderful blog too!

This one could be a travel journal for your next trip~ or a place to plan your dream vacation.
I hope you liked my peek preview~ you can purchase these on my etsy shop. The link is to the left of this post.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!! As you can see here, we had a wonderful traditional meal yesterday with all of the trimmings~ My husband did a great job of cooking almost all of the feast. He loves to use his "Set it and forget it" rotisserie that we got as a gift a few Christmases ago. We were very happy to have Michael join us this year. Last year he stayed up at college and it just wasnt the same...
Michael and Bob had a go of it first.

Theresa and I were also very hungry. This turkey smelled delicious~

Bobs world famous mashed potatoes!!! 5 lbs. for 4 people!!!

The crown jewel!!!

SOME NEW ETSY PRETTIES~~

Thought I would share some of the new tags I have just listed on Etsy this afternoon. Fall has such beautiful colors attached to it. The rich warm tones of rust, gold, browns and greens just ask for a card or tag to jump onto. The first is a recipe tag that makes an awesome dessert for these chilly evenings. It is stamped and then colored in with watercolor pencils.
Next are a set of walnut inked-coffee stained-vanilla scented tags that are so pretty for a bookmark, journaling spot, package tie-on, or even displayed in an old bowl in the foyer or bedroom. They are sold in a set of 2.
Lastly, there are a set of 4 Thanksgiving tags made from vintage postcard copies. These tags are a large 4 by 6 inches and would make an awesome hostess gift. How about tying one on a bottle of wine, or attaching it with ribbon to the dessert or side dish you are bringing to the feast? The tags are rubber stamped, flowered and crystaled for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for stopping by....

A NEW STAMP SET FOR ME!!

I love getting a new stamp set. It opens up a world of imagination! This set is from Serendipity Stamps. It comes as unmounted red rubber on cling. The quality is wonderful, and they are so easy to use. The set contains the mustang image, a rope image and a sentiment that I did not use in this card. I think this set will have so many uses, and is gender neutral.

A BIRTHDAY CARD TO MAKE YOU SMILE~

I made this card with a stamp set by C.C.Designs that I turn to quite a bit. The images are adorable and work so well in so many cards. I think this card would work well for either an adult or a child.

BATH TIME!!!!

Just thought I would share some cute photos of our 3 dogs as they waited their turn for a saturday afternoon bath. Peeking thru the gate is our Wheaton Terrier A.J. He is used to this , as he must frequently go to the groomer for a haircut.
Next up is our baby Kody. He tolerates his bath, but would rather sit back here on the step and be an observer.

Madison decided that she would go first~ At 11 years old, this is nothing new to her. And as a Lab, should'nt she be loving this water thing??

WHAT FUN IS A FAIR WITHOUT WINNING A GOLDFISH????

Here is your prize ~ take good care of him...
Here is my daughter happily showing off her new pet goldfish. We play this game every year, and usually come home with one. Last years only lasted about 3 days though. We have high hopes for this guy, and so far he's living up to his expectations!!

Here's a shot of the winning ball. Theresa named her fish "35" because the game was 35 balls for $5.00, and she didnt win until the very last ball.

A FEW MORE FAIR PHOTOS...

This llama was watching everything I did. Since we were standing so close to each other, I am real glad he seemed friendly~
My husband enjoyed having conversations with the winning chickens. We were cracking up at this ones hairdo.

OUR LOCAL FAIR

For the last few years, we go to our local fall fair and 4H expo. We love to see the animals and then go on the rides. Of course the food is awesome also. I cannot go to a fair without having some cotton candy. What is your favorite fair food? I will have more pictures tomorrow.

SATURDAY MORNINGS CAN BE SO MUCH FUN~~~

I love going to yard sales on saturday mornings. Sometimes you can find such great stuff. I think the saying "Someones trash is someone else's treasure" sure holds true for me. I also love seeing other blogs that show what people got on their quests for great junk, so I thought I would show you mine from today. Look at these awesome old bingo games!!!! They both are just chock full of great pieces to create with!! There must be about 50-75 bingo cards in total!!! Can you say "Motherload?" I was so excited to find these. And the cards are different in each set~ Im not familiar with the setup on the bottom game. It looks to be pretty old. I got these 2 games, a large bowl for my dog to drink out of when she is outside and 2 new baseball caps all for $3.00. Now thats a good deal!!!!!

MORE YARD SALE FINDS

I think this little music stand is adorable. Not sure what it was used for originally, because it is so little, but now it will become a display stand for my ATC'S or cards.
I found these at my last stop. Dont you love retro juice pitchers?? Should I know squeeze my own orange juice? they will join my tomato juice pitcher that I got last spring at a different yard sale.

A FEW INSPIRATIONAL CARDS

Today I made some inspirational cards from the Papertrey ink set called " Everyday Blessings" All of the verses are so pretty and so versatile. My idea in making this group of cards was to keep them simple, yet elegant. The printed papers are all from The Luxury Stack by DCWV. The insides of the cards have been left blank.

CRAFT FOR A CAUSE

This card , made by me is being sent to The Artman Home in Ambler, PA in celebration of World Alzheimers Day. It was done to thank the caretakers who work in this home for what is often a difficult job. A fellow blogger- http://www.myblogbycammie.blogspot.com/ had a grandmother there who was afflicted with this disease. In honor of her, cammie has made a beautiful stamp set with the proceeds going towards alzheimers research. We all must do our part to bring attention to this illness, which is often harder on the caretakers than it is to the patient. Cammie and many wonderful artists and companies out there have put together a prize package to end all prizes. Please check it out on her blog. Perhaps you know someone who would benefit from a card like this.

MORE OF THE FAIRY SWAP...

I thought I would show you what I sent to my swap partner. I made her an accordian book of fairies~ This is the cover which was tied shut with seam binding ribbon from the Martha Stewart Collection. This is a view of the whole book opened. I aged the inside with walnut stain and a little cinnamon to make it smell good.
There is rubber stamping and fairies on each of the pages.
Their tiny wings were glittered to make them all sparkley~
She may be my favorite fairy, sitting atop her postcard. Hope you liked it Rhonda~~~

A FAIRY SWAP

I recently participated in a fairy swap with my group on Etsy called Etsy Cottage Style. It was great fun to get matched up with one of the very talented ladies of this group. We were to make something fairy related and I was thrilled to receive mine this week from my wonderful swap partner Rhonda. You can visit her awesome blog at www. Rhondamum.blogspot.com. From there you can link to her Etsy shop where she has some adorable vintage ephemera to purchase. Here is the cover to my fairy box.... It is made from a large cigar box. Inside, not only was it decorated to the nines~ it was filled with awesome goodies!!! Did Rhonda peak into my art studio and see what things I love?? She must have~
This is the inside of the box without all the goodies.
Here is a side view. It stands up on its own little feet~
The little feet are old fashioned wooden spools! Done to perfection!!! Thank you
Rhonda!! I hope you like yours!!!

Theresa Lauren at her favorite place~ the pool!!!!!

Yea!!! michael passed his road test this week and is now a legal driver!! He was actually very calm when we went to the DMV. I remember being quite nervous when it was my turn. I sat in the park, and about 10 minutes later he was back with a big smile on his face. We are very proud of him!!! Way To Go Michael!!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

I know this wish is coming a bit late, but we had such a busy weekend, I thought better late than never. My sweet daughter made me this lovely mothers day gift at school. Her class also went strawberry picking, and then made strawberry jam and a delicious strawberry dessert glaze. The best part was the shortbread that the class made, and it was still warm when it arrived home in this beautiful hand decorated bag~~ my son and I proceeded to have some at once. It was so good, and by far my best present!!
