KITCHEN KITSCH NOTECARDS

Hi everyone, hope you are having a great day. Lately, I have really been into stamps and embellishments, etc. with a kitchen theme. I am quickly sucked in by their lure, and before you know it, they are in my mailbox!
And when these things have a vintage or retro feel "OH MY GOD!!"
I recently taught a class and it was a retro cookbook. (more to come on that later). So now I actually needed these kitchen things instead of just wanting them. HOORAY~
I found these great stamps at Stampers Dream online store and they are actually made by Gooseberry Patch, the ladies that make all those great cookbooks and country kitchen stuff. I did not even realize this until I got them and read the package. They are clear acrylic and stamp very well. I ended up not using these stamps for my class, but love playing with them. I made these 2 sets of notecards, they are just a little bit different. They will be for sale shortly in my Etsy Shop.

I used Nanas Kitchen for my paper, and Gina K pure Luxury white cardstock to stamp on. I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with my Copics, which I have shown below.

Martha Stewart seam binding ties the yellow and pink bows, and the green ribbon was from my stash.

Martha Stewart Doily punch was used, and Stampin Up cardstock is the base of the card.

The mixer and the bowl notecards have either a round background or a square background. The canisters have only a rectangle shape.

The bottom left of the inside of each card has a little set of measuring spoons, stamped in brown. Same for the envelopes.

ANOTHER BIRTHDAY???

Yes , its true. Dont worry, this is still a papercrafting blog, but because family is so important to me, I do blog about them also from time to time.

Today is my oldest son, Stephen Richards' 25th birthday. I cannot even believe that I have a child who is 25! When I had my sonogram, I chose not to find out the sex of the baby, I preferred to be surprised. Since I did not have any brothers, I secretly wished the baby was a boy. Well, I was over the moon when the Dr. said those famous words "Its a Boy"

He is a wonderful son and has always made me very proud of him. Stephen, we love you and have a great birthday and an even better year!!!!!!

NO CALORIE COOKIES

Hello, I am back today with another birthday card. Our family has a few birthdays all around the same time. This time it was for my Brother in Law John. Im sure many of you have seen a card like this before, but I had not, and when I did, I knew this was the one for him.
He loves Oreo cookies and since I find Masculine cards more of a challenge , this seemed perfect to me. Its tough when you cant have all those frilly girl things that make cards so pretty.
Well, here is my plate of cookies. They were so much fun to make, I ended up with 3. I made these with my nestabilities, but you can do them with any circle cutter. Once the circle was cut. I ran them through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to give the cookies a little texture. I punched the center ovals with the Stampin Up Oval and Scalloped Oval punches. The bottom punch is the plain oval, then punch a scalloped oval, and punch out the center of that one with the regular oval punch. Adhere them together and either write or stamp the word OREO in the middle.
I chose to stamp it with my Just Right Brayton Font stamps, as I thought this looked neater than my handwriting. I then used my bone folder to make the little line accents around the edges of each cookie.

Here is a photo of the inside. I cut out 2 smaller circles with white SU cardstock, and adhered them with foam tape to give the filling a bit of a 3-D look. The brown cardstock is Bazzills Bittersweet Chocolate. A fitting name, isnt it?

I think this would make great invitations to a childs party, or any type of casual get together.

FOR MY SPECIAL PRINCESS~

Here is the card I made for my daughters sweet 16 birthday. As soon as I saw this image, I thought of Theresa Lauren~ carefree, happy and full of hope and wonder.
Of course, dont forget she IS a teenager, but that just makes me more aware of just how "typical" she is. Her favorite colors are pink and purple, so that was the color scheme. It is an easel card, which is my current favorite type of card style. Its just such a beautiful finished look, it will probably be my favorite for a long time to come.
The image is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. I resized her to be big enough to fit the 6 by 6 inch card.

The carstock is Stampin Up, the patterned paper with the plaid has no name on it, and the floral is from a company called Stemma and the pattern is Charlie. I have had it quite a while. In fact when we used to go to a now closed scrapbook store in Wilmington, I used to let TT pick out a few sheets for herself. This is one of those sheets.

She is colored with Copic Markers. Her pretty pink satin ribbon is from Offray. Pink ink is Blush Chalk Ink.

Pearls are from Michaels and made by Recollections.
I used Stampin Up Crystal Effects on her balloons to give them a shine. Before that I used a White Sigmo Pen to highlight them a bit.

I had to computer generate the inside sentiment.

She was very excited to receive this card, and very happy to be "16".
